An open letter to our community

From: Clement Place Residents/Litter Team
To : Our Neighbors and Community
Subject: Our impact on our community

If you google the term " Clement Place"  you get the following result:
" Clement Place has 100 studio units of affordable housing with supportive
services for people with significant disabling conditions like
serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and physical disabilities."

We, however, the residents of Clement Place are that, but we are much more. We are also a vibrant
community of artists, musicians, working people, retirees, mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters just
like you. Some of us, however, are causing a negative impact on the community with dog feces, litter,
bio-hazards, and criminal loitering. Some of us. This is not all of us. For example those of us involved
and supporting the litter team want to clean up the grounds, sidewalks, and streets that surround our
building and we are actively engaged in this effort. We want to be good neighbors so we are taking
action to help clean up our community. We agree, litter and dog feces are ugly and we want to have
a beautiful community environment.

We the good people of this community have all signed this letter to show you that we are very sorry
that our building is having a negative impact on our neighborhood lowering property values, making
the community ugly, dangerous and uninhabitable. We detest this as much as you especially since
those among us that do these things live in the next apartment! In the coming weeks and months
ahead we commit to an improvement of this overall neighborhood condition as we work to remedy
these issues. We welcome your feedback and support we have a Clement/Resident Community Blog
where you can leave helpful comments, voice your concerns and even lend us your support. It is here:
